This course is a patient management presentation covering the important aspects of the Subjective, Objective, and Assessment portions of the patient examination. The goal is to the instruct the therapist on gathering a detailed patient history while making a connection with patient by actively listening and asking open ended questions. The course will discussion the initial examination process using Maitland principles along with gathering the patients SINSS and understanding the importance of hypothesis generation. It will cover the importance of forming a patient prognosis to prospectively outline the course of treatment needed. Then moving to the key aspects of the objective examination in gathering the relevant data and asterisk signs need to reach a treatment threshold. The course will also discuss the use of graded joint mobilizations for assessment, the principles behind this, and the use of the test retest model to determine the effectiveness of treatment interventions. The goal of the course is to help the therapist develop a solid foundation for performing a complete and comprehensive initial examination using clinical reasoning.
