Many people are aware of the need for sufficient hip flexion and extension and understand that a lack of either motion can cause big problems in daily, sport and recreational life. However, some people might not know that sufficient hip rotation is also of utmost importance in gait, daily life, and even more important in sports and activities that require deep hip flexion or rotation through the hip, pelvis, lumbar and thoracic spine. This workshop will review the most common compensations seen in those with hip rotational deficits and the numerous injures that may result. You will learn how to assess hip rotational deficits and identify common compensations. You will also learn specific exercises to improve these deficits and in turn prevent injuries. Includes exercises using a variety of Pilates and mindful movement equipment.
