Participants will learn how to improve their clinical reasoning with better differential diagnosis skills and screening tools. They will learn viscerogenic pain referral theory and referral patterns. They will learn how to recognize and screen the signs & symptoms of systemic disease and medical conditions that can mimic musculoskeletal problems. They will recognize red and yellow flags to differentiate when conditions are outside of their scope of practice and when they should refer out to a medical specialist. This can help improve your patient care and lessen your risk of inappropriate treatments. Course will include pathology of the abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small intestines, large intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys. Participants will learn hands-on screening tools for differential diagnosis of abdominal pathology. This course will include lab participation. Lab attire required.
