Extended sitting at computer work stations can lead to forward head, rounded and elevated shoulders, and slumped upper back postures. These postures are often associated with pain and can alter optimal mechanics and increase risk for many problems. This workshop will provide recommendations for workstation adjustments and exercise microbreaks using bands and your desk chair that can improve posture and lessen discomfort. Exercises will also be taught utilizing Pilates apparatus that are designed to strengthen and stretch key muscles of the shoulders, upper back and neck to help counter stresses associated with extended computer work.
