This unique half day course will benefit therapists who take pride in helping their patients achieve full recovery. Attendees will have the chance to interact with six Valley physicians specializing in orthopaedics, sports medicine and podiatry. Each physician will give a presentation focused on their individual specialization and explain the role of a therapist in each of their modalities. These presentations will showcase complicated patient cases and “tricks-of-the-trade” to inform attendees on how they can be an integral part of patient success stories. The event will include intermittent panel discussions allowing therapists to ask candid questions such as: • How can I better prepare a patient for surgery? • When is the soonest a patient should start therapy after surgery? • When can my patient return to his/her sport? • How can I help a patient reach recovery if they experienced complications during surgery? • What can I do when my patient is not improving? This course emphasizes the importance of a collaborative relationship between physician and therapy provider. By the completion of this course, attendees will be armed with the knowledge and practical information to achieve successful recoveries.
