Credit Description:

Looking for a new perspective? Join this interactive workshop that introduces a specific type of manual guidance in combination with environmental supports. Current theories, including the perception-action theory, dynamic systems theory and theory of neuronal group selection, are presented as the basis for this intervention. The approach allows active, spontaneous exploration of the child’s environment and promotes adaptability, variability, and complexity in movement that are oriented to a functional task. Lectures include patient videos and intervention examples to illustrate the theoretical underpinnings and primary concepts of the approach. Lab sessions provide practical experience for the participants. Patient demonstrations are included to expand your knowledge and understanding of patient examination, evaluation, and intervention consistent with Perception-Action Approach. This course is designed for Multi-level clinicians.
