This course offers an in-depth review of billing and coding principles for Medicare Parts A and B. Participants are offered an overview of Medicare as well as detailed information regarding Part A PPS, MDS assessments, therapy billing and MDS coding, CPT coding and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding. Participants will identify how to select and accurately record appropriate codes based upon code relevance to the documented plan of care. Using multiple examples, therapists will learn how to be compliant with coding and how to avoid common errors. The medical review process including tips and strategies for successfully managing medical review will be explored.
