ICU Academy – A Competency Based Course Program Description: This one day, clinically-focused course emphasizes key considerations applicable to the therapist managing patients in the ICU. The course will present current evidence on adverse effects of bedrest and the latest information on early mobility in the ICU. A hands-on portion of the course will take place in a Simulation and Training Center using high fidelity mannequins to simulate a critical care unit with many of the lines, tubes, alarms, monitors and ventilators encountered in an ICU. You will return to your practice with the tools to identify appropriate patients for an early mobility program and the confidence in dealing with ICU equipment.
