"Documentation: Meeting Arizona Standards” is a one day course (8 hours) for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants that presents the current documentation standards required by the Arizona physical therapy statutes and rules. Participants will learn the key elements of documentation for lawful practice, supervision of personnel and patient care management, and will be able to distinguish between adequate and inadequate patient records. Participants will be trained to utilize a chart review tool developed by the instructors to independently analyze their own patient records for legal compliance. By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify their strengths and deficiencies in documenting patient care and will formulate strategies to ensure compliance with Arizona standards. Sessions will be interactive with opportunity to apply learning to sample and actual patient records.
