This seminar provides a detailed overview of types of lower extremity amputations including partial foot, toe, transtibial, transfemoral, hemipelvectomy, and bilateral amputations. Characteristics, epidemiology, treatment considerations, prosthetic fit, and training considerations for each are offered. Components of prosthetic devices, including prosthetic socks, sockets, knee and foot components are reviewed.
