Credit Description:

This 16-hour, competency-based workshop will go in-depth on research-based pain mechanisms and theories as it relates to all stages of pain management. Topics will include appropriate screening tools and subjective evaluation standards. Following subjective interviews, the participant will delve deeper into the objective component of their examination with hands-on practice for the performance of pain-related objective exams. Following those two pieces, clinical decision-making breakouts will be paramount to their practice in allowing for decreased heuristic errors. Evidence-based treatment approaches will not only be discussed but will be performed in multiple breakout sessions to allow for improved competency in pain management. An online examination will follow the course and the participant will have 30 days to complete a Pain Management Patient Profile (PMPP) and submit to the course director for grading. Following a passing score on the online examination and PMPP, the participant will be Certified in Pain Management.
