Credit Description:

The mission of the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) is to serve as an educational resource for the Major League and Minor League baseball medicine team. PBATS serves its members by providing for the continued education of the athletic trainer and associated providers as it relates to the profession, helping to improve their understanding of sports medicine so as to better promote the health of the constituency— professional baseball players. Each spring training, PBATS provides a 1-day educational seminar for its members. The 2020 Arizona seminar is hosted by the Milwaukee Brewers. The theme of the session will be on concussion management and care in the baseball athlete. While the incidence of concussions is low in baseball relative to other sports, their impact can be significant with regards to performance. In addition, the research regarding management strategies and prognosis continues to evolve. Therefore, it is important for the baseball medicine team to stay abreast of the best practices in concussion identification, management, and treatment.
