Course Description: 1.0 CEU presentation at the NPTA Spring Eastern District meeting about early mobility in the hospital setting presented by Jen Suelter, PT, DPT, ATC, CWS Course Objectives: • Recognize the benefits of an early mobility program • Provide a brief history of mobility in the hospital system • Note the deleterious effects of bedrest • Emphasize the importance of an ICU culture paradigm shift • Identify barriers to implementing early mobility culture • Recognize the opportunities for future growth in ICU and early mobility care Course Time Schedule: NPTA Spring Eastern District Meeting 6:30-7:00 PM; CEU Presentation 7:00-8:00 PM Course Date: March 3, 2020 Instructor Name, Credentials, Biography: Jen Suelter, PT, DPT, ATC, CWS. Jen Suelter is a PT that works primarily in the trauma ICU at Bryan Medical Center here in Lincoln, NE. She graduated from Benedictine College with a sports medicine degree followed by her DPT from Creighton University. She has worked in the hospital setting throughout the majority of her career primarily with ICU and trauma patients. She is a certified athletic trainer as well as a certified wound specialist. She is almost as passionate about early mobility as she is about fishing and spending time with her 17 nieces and nephews.
