This seminar will provide an overview of neurogenic communication disorders by etiology and clinical presentation. These will include aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, and cognitive-communicative disorders encountered in dementia and traumatic brain injury. The impact of these disorders on activities of daily living, health management, and quality of life will also be discussed. Following this overview, participants will be provided with myriad communication strategies that will facilitate communication interaction.
