This introductory level course covers various aspects of behavior management in the acute acre setting. This live lecture format provides learners the opportunity to interact and ask questions about specific behavior issues and discharge concerns encountered in the acute care setting. The course begins with an overview of behavior management, the populations at risk for behavior concerns and the risks associated with challenging behaviors. Specific assessment tools and interventions are reviewed and discharge and goal planning are discussed. The participants are engaged in discussion of a case presentation in which they are asked to apply the lessons learned from the lecture.
