This course covers the current evidence and theoretical rationales for integrating blood flow restriction into the practice of rehabilitation, athletic performance, and health & wellness. The course covers the negative systemic effects post-injury, following sedentarism, and how blood flow restriction training can be successfully utilized to combat these negative effects, both in the rehabilitation and health/wellness settings. As allied health professionals, the additional practice of BFR may assist APTA professionals with treating patients, and broadening their clinic offerings.
