This course is an introduction to assessing and assisting the recreational runner through basic physical therapy examination, patient management, and mastery of basic intervention skills in common chronic or acute conditions involving running-related injuries. This course emphasizes the process of identifying subjective symptoms and related basic elements of objective physical performance outcomes and running video analysis findings that are clinically relevant and required to make a diagnosis. Attendees are taught the interpretation of basic data gathered as they develop a physical therapy intervention plan. The attendee is equipped with teaching strategies to convey the fundamental aspects of running-related injury prevention to patients/clients.
