Credit Description:

The purpose of resident advocacy in the rehab setting is to: support a resident at their highest level of function; recognize that a resident’s functional ability may decline as they age in place and that interventions may be needed to reduce the decline; and assure that all team members assist in helping all residents maintain their highest level of function. This seminar will review the foundations of resident advocacy in the rehab setting. It will also introduce strategies for implementing resident centered treatment interventions across rehab settings. Using examples, therapists will learn how apply all components of resident advocacy to their client population.
