Although largely preventable, falls represents a tremendous health and economic burden, particularly among older adults. The goals of this CEU course are to measure awareness and uptake of the six fall prevention recommendations; explore the perceptions of older people with mild dementia and mild cognitive impairment, and their family carers, about falling, falls risk and the acceptability of falls prevention interventions; gauge the extent to which providers are assessing fall risk in older adult patients and referring these patients to evidence-based fall prevention interventions; investigate the perceived benefits and barriers of an evidence- based, home-based fall prevention program (FPP) among seniors, general practitioners, home care nurses, and physiotherapists; and explore how allied health professionals are making fall prevention practice routine in primary care and the factors that influence their doing so.
