This oncology focused course will enable attendees to have a better understanding of the diagnosis of the different types of pelvic cancers including pathology and genetics, as well as the most current treatment using surgical intervention, radiation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The course will include the implications of pelvic cancer treatment and recognizing the signs and symptoms of pelvic cancer-related lymphedema. In addition, attendees will gain insight into cancer care pathways and survivorship issues as they related to pelvic cancer-related lymphedema. Included is an overview of lymphedema treatment and demonstration with an advanced pneumatic compression device used in the home to effectively manage pelvic cancer-related lymphedema.
