Program Description: This one day workshop will cover an overview on the topic of pelvic floor health and what can be done in rehab about pelvic floor dysfunction. Subjects covered include: • Pelvic floor anatomy/physiology • Pelvic floor muscle function • Symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction • Assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, including incontinence and prolapse • Pelvic floor dysfunction relationships to SIJ and back pain • Considerations for cancer, hysterectomy, and endometriosis • Considerations for the pregnant/postpartum patient • Effects of catheters and purewicks on pelvic floor health Upon completion of this course, participants will have knowledge of how to assess and/or treat common pelvic floor problems in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
