This 2-day session will clarify how occupational and physical therapy practitioners are equipped to be effective contributors to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. We will explore practical strategies to support these efforts in building capacity in each of our school communities. This course will incorporate Universal Design for Learning and rely on group activities for active engagement. • Day 1 will be focused on orientation to the MTSS Framework, its essential elements and key features from the perspective of related service providers. We will clarify how we are already working within this Framework and how we can strengthen our practices to have an even greater impact across the school community. • Day 2 will be spent applying the MTSS to daily practices with attention to existing and needed systems to support student success. We will emphasize the critical need to ensure decisions and efforts are all grounded in and driven by student and program data. • Participants will work in teams to develop action plans that address common barriers and promote OT and PT involvement in MTSS.
