Dehydration is a common medical condition that affects individuals of all ages. In addition, dehydration may exacerbate or complicate other medical problems that may cause further physiological strain to the body. Physician examination is used to diagnose dehydration with fluid replacement as the primary treatment. In this course, participants will learn (1) the importance of hydration and fluid intake; (2) different presentations of dehydration and its subsequent complications; and (3) clinical implications of dehydration across the continuum of care.
