Credit Description:

Public and private health care payers are encouraging therapists to implement innovative and lower cost ways of providing quality care. Therapists in different settings are challenged to seek optimal clinical outcomes in fewer therapy sessions. One area of promise for inter‐professional collaboration is that of dual‐task training. More importantly, the need to assure techniques of the highest skill levels that are supported by evidence based practice is crucial. This session will review key research findings to support dual‐task training for cognitive and physical functions. It will also illustrate how collaborative communication between therapy disciplines can improve functional outcomes through case studies and examples of inter‐professional collaboration to utilizing dual tasking in skilled treatments. Finally, learners will review associated documentation principles for dual task interventions. The strategies addressed in this session will help therapists focus on continued quality plans of care with their clients.
