This course will develop and deepen the clinicians understanding of how therapeutic alliance between the clinician and patient can lead to improvements in operational metrics such as arrival rate, patient drop off, and outcomes This course will also help to bridge the gap between operational metrics and providing excellent patient care. It is well documented in psychological research that therapeutic alliance has been found to predict symptomatic improvements and it has more recently been incorporated in other healthcare settings Developing a strong alliance with our patients can help secure the place of physical therapy within the healthcare model. It enables practitioners to demonstrate the value of what we can provide, justifying costs compared to alternative treatment options. With declining reimbursement for physical therapy, improving patient outcomes and capitalizing on each patient interaction has become more pivotal.
