Individuals with mobility impairments who have a permanent need for wheelchair and seating interventions require a comprehensive, detailed evaluation of their physical, functional, and environmental needs. This allows the evaluation team to make appropriate assistive technology recommendations to promote safe and functional mobility. This course will use the mobility algorithm as a guide through the mobility evaluation and the necessary documentation required to support medical need. It will also discuss various manual and power wheelchair skills necessary for maximizing independence and safety with mobility. This course will include a hands-on lab to provide enhanced learning of the material.
