Pain science is a multifaceted topic that impacts treating patients with both acute and chronic pain in many ways. Each patient will experience pain differently based on physical, psychological, and social factors, as well as experiences regarding their pain. This course will educate physical therapists and physical therapist assistants on the predominant theories in pain science, the role of neuroscience as it relates to pain, and how to intervene with patients experiencing pain.
