Credit Description:

Low-Level Laser Therapy is a treatment that involves the usage of light applied to the body to treat various ailments or diseases. While High Level Lasers are used in procedures to cut or cauterize tissues and are often utilized in surgical procedures, Low-Level Lasers are devices that produce no heat and usually no visible light that create no heat and are used to treat the surface of the skin or below the skin depending on the power used. Low-Level Laser Therapy can be used for treating many diseases and disorders, including treatment of depression, tuberculosis, healing of wounds, and pain management related to ailments such as arthritis, wounds, TMJ, and musculoskeletal disorders. LLLT needs much more study to pinpoint accurate dosimetry due to the many settings to consider, however guidelines and suggested parameters are available. This course will provide information about how LLLT works, how it affects the body intracellularly and the benefits thereof, the precautions that should be taken by practitioner and patient, and will explore many instances that LLLT has been shown to be effective in treatment scenarios.
