The goal of this program is to have clinicians increase the familiarity with dysfunctional behavior of the lumbar spine, sacrum and pelvis and correct dysfunction in a way that is safe for a wide range of patients and does not require electricity or a user manual. This course will cover spinal, pelvic and sacral anatomy and provide the orthopedic tests necessary to address a wide variety of dysfunctions. The theory and application of muscle energy technique for the lumbar spine, pelvis and sacrum will be covered along with adjunct treatment methods that can help reinforce the MET performed and limit further instances of somatic dysfunction. The influence of the lumbar spine and diaphragm on the sacrum will be highlighted for the section devoted to sacral dysfunction as the behavior of the spine and action of the diaphragm is critical for fixing sacral dysfunction.
