This course will consist of one hour of pre-recorded asynchronous content followed by a one-hour synchronous session. Both the asynchronous and synchronous portions need to be completed in their entirety to receive CEUs. The asynchronous content will be divided into two parts. In the first part, participants will learn about the current landscape of mental health concerns in college students. In the second part, participants will learn about research on stress in physical therapy students specifically, including the incidence and levels of stress as well as the experience and outcomes of stress, with a focus on stress in the clinical education setting. The one-hour synchronous portion will consist of a panel of various stakeholders who participate in or support the clinical education for doctor of physical therapy (DPT) and physical therapist assistant (PTA) students. This will include a Disability and Accommodations Specialist, a clinical instructor, a site coordinator for clinical education, students, and the mental health professional from the synchronous session. Each panelist will share their expertise working with college students, specifically DPT and PTA students, and their experience working with students with mental health concerns. Participants will have an opportunity to submit questions before and during the presentation.
