There is uncertainty among physical therapy providers on whether cervical spine high velocity low amplitude (HVLA) joint mobilizations are safe and efficacious. Physical therapists are more likely to perform additional screening, abstain from, or feel uncomfortable performing HVLA mobilizations for the cervical spine. This results in a discrepancy between utilization at different spinal levels. This course will cover current best evidence in the physical therapy management of neck pain, including HVLA mobilization. Participants will gain an updated understanding of evidence-based assessment and clinical decision-making strategies allowing them to immediately implement this integral component of manual therapy into practice with their patients. • Laboratory session will focus on the safe and effective delivery of HVLA joint mobilization to the cervical spine.
