Credit Description:

Plyometrics are high-risk, high-reward activities. If done correctly, relative to quality, technique, intensity, frequency, volume and recovery the individuals athletic potential, muscle mass and muscle reaction greatly improve. This enhances the patient’s ability to return to sport and play at the highest level possible, that is less stressful on the individual/surgical repaired tissue with a reduction in the risk of re-injury or new injury. This course discusses and gives rationale for the when, why and how to introduce plyometric training into the rehab process in a safe, systematic, and progressive fashion. Also, included in this course is the utilization of functional outcome measures (Hop Tests, Y-Balance and agility testing) to assist with clinical reasoning and decision making on exercise prescription changes, return to sport, return to play and discharge planning.
