This obesity focused course will enable attendees to understand the diagnosis of lymphedema secondary to obesity. Attendees will learn the pathophysiology of obesity-related lymphedema as well as appropriate identifiction and treatment of patients with this condition. Attendees will receive education regarding signs and symptoms, comorbidities, unique presentation, and treatment including modifictions and special considerations for this population. Attendees will also gain insight into comprehensive treatment of obesity that shape the patient’s care pathway. Included is an overview of standard lymphedema care including the use of an advanced pneumatic compression device for ongoing long term home management.
