This course aims to provide orthopedic physical therapists with an in depth understanding of pelvic anatomy, physiology, and the role of the pelvic floor muscles in supporting the lumbar spine, pelvis, hips and pelvic organs. Participants will explore the deep core musculature, pressure management techniques, breathing strategies, and differential diagnosis of lumbar spine, pelvic and hip/groin pain and dysfunction and treating pelvic pain and urinary incontinence. The course will include both lectures and lab sessions to enhance learning and skill application. An optional internal pelvic exam and treatment lecture and lab will be offered during the second half of day 2.
