Credit Description:

This course is constructed as advanced education for chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and rehab specialists. It trains these practitioners in a new modality and expands their knowledge base and abilities for evaluation and therapeutic interventions. Many of these practitioners know foundational neurological principles, but very rarely do they actually apply them in practice. Concepts like motor control, autonomic balance, and adaptation rarely inform the work of most physical therapists, athletics trainers, or rehab specialists, yet we have seen that applying these concepts improves patient outcomes. The Neurological approaches taught at this class will provide the practitioners with (i) a way to efficiently evaluate the neurological status of their patients, including strength, motor control, and the presence of compensation patterns; and (ii) a way to address any of those neurological deficits to enhance muscle activation, optimize neurological patterning, and accelerate patient recovery beyond what is capable with more traditional methods. Specifically, in the course, students will learn in-depth the techniques that make up the NeuFit Method through the construct of a feedback loop. These techniques include manual muscle testing and activations, nerve glides, joint articulations, and an introduction to our patented direct-current stimulation technology the Neubie. After completion of this course, students will have an extremely powerful education on functional neurology that can be used as an adjunctive therapy to traditional methods to enhance recovery and healing.
