Professional Communication is an Essential tool to maintain professional relationships, work in a collaborative manner and promote quality in the healthcare process. Poor communication and communication overload are shown to have a direct correlation with decreased patient outcomes, adverse events and stressors among healthcare professionals. Effective communication determines clinical quality, patients’ safety, clinicians’ well-being and public satisfaction. Written communication, Verbal Communication, Non-verbal Communication as well as Effective Active Listening are all components of professional communication. The professional who masters effective communication will possess strong skills in facilitating team functioning, managing conflict, negotiating and collaborating effectively.
