This course provides the participant tools to evaluate and treat, with an evidence-based approach, the majority of TMD and orofacial pain disorders that present in a clinic. This includes the 5 major types of TMD (myogenic, arthrogenic, disc displacement, headache attributable to TMD, and subluxation). Cervicogenic headache is the primary headache disorder that is discussed in this course. The learner will develop an understanding for the basics of what other healthcare providers can do for patients suffering from TMD. This course includes Axis I (biomechanical) and Axis II (psychosocial) evaluation. This 8-week course is divided into 4, 2-week modules. Most of the learning activities and learning assessments will come from answering posed questions and posting for others to review and discuss. The goal is meaningful discussion. Individual assignments will also be used.
