During this workshop participants will engage in group activities, discussion, lecture, and case studies as they identify the remaining abilities and challenges of patients in all stages of dementia. Participants will receive specific training on the use of the major elements of the Abilities Care Approach(R) including adapted care approaches, multi-sensory strategies, and key skilled interventions for physical therapists in order to create effective plans of care and functional maintenance programs (FMPs) for clients with dementia who live in long-term care communities. Interactive activities throughout the workshop provide opportunities to practice the use of skilled language and documentation associated with the Abilities Care Approach
