The "My Scoli Physio An Update in Scoliosis Management" is a structured internal training program tailored for newly hired Physiotherapist specializing in scoliosis care. Upon completion of the training, newly trained physiotherapist will work under the supervision of a Lead /Senior Physiotherapist who has obtained certification in Schroth Method or BSPTS Rigo Method as both methods are two of the recognised physiotherapeutic scoliosis specific exercises (PSSE) listed in the SOSORT guidelines. Program Structure: Part 1 : Four-Day Intensive Classroom Training: This phase encompasses both theoretical and practical sessions of the scoliosis pathophysiology, assessment, prognosis, general types of scoliosis and overview of the treatment principles. Another part which will be covered in this phase is Pilates exercises using the mat and reformer machine for the scoliosis population. Part 2 :One-Month On-Field Job Training: The newly hired Physiotherapists are paired up with a Lead/ Senior Physiotherapists for one-to-one guidance in a clinical setting. This mentorship allows them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, enhancing their practical skills and confidence treating the scoliosis population. Part 3 : Logbook and Reflective Practice. Throughout the training, physiotherapist in training shall maintain a logbook documenting daily patient encounters and reflective diaries. This practice encourages critical thinking, self-assessment, and continuous learning, fostering a deeper understanding of scoliosis management and personal professional development. Each logbook entry requires the signature of a Lead/Senior physiotherapist, confirming their understanding and safe execution both in the physiotherapy management of scoliosis and Pilates for scoliosis exercise.
