Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) is a training method that partially restricts arterial inflow and fully restricts venous outflow in working musculature during exercise. BFR increases muscle strength 7-27% and muscle size 3-7% in 3-6 weeks of training. Participants will learn to effectively use a BFR tourniquet cuff to the proximal region of the training limb. Proper cuff pressure and placement, exercise protocols, potential adverse effects and contraindications will be instructed. A post course assessment practical will be required and reviewed by the instructors.
