This is a Re-Approval of a previously Approved course #CEUL158261. This course, Comprehensive Lymphedema Management Certification Course for the Upper and Lower Extremities is designed to teach therapists the most current management techniques to effectively treat Lymphedema patients. These patients could include pt's with Lymphedema secondary to Cancer surgeries or nodes removed and/or radiation and secondary Lymphedema patients effected by Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Chronic Congestive heart Failure (medically managed), Post Surgical Orthopedic patients such as Post Total Hip Replacement, Total Knee Replacement, Shoulder, Elbow or other orthopedic surgeries prone to edema post surgically. Participants will leave this course with a certification of Comprehensive Lymphedema Management Therapy (CLT) for UE and LE Treatment and have knowledge of techniques needed to immediately begin managing their patients with Lymphedema. They will be able to effectively assess, evaluate and treat these patients based on their knowledge acquired during the presentations, discussions and practice in the laboratory experience during this class. Participants will gain information pertaining to the necessary manual techniques from Comprehensive Lymphedema Management for American Health Care required to appropriately design a therapeutic treatment approach and self management programs. Participants will also be instructed in the appropriate documentation requirements needed for treatment of Lymphedema patients and the appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes needed for appropriate billing of these patients. This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and treatment approaches for all PT's, PTA's, OTR's, COTA's, Nurses (esp. in wound care) or Physicians.
