In the Certified Pitching Biomechanist Course, students will learn ways to objectively evaluate throwing athletes through the lens of ArmCare.com’s Strength and Coordination Decision Making Tree. The decision-making tree is a framework, much like medicine, that provides a differential diagnosis pathway through a hierarchy of evaluations and optimization factors combining 3D motion capture, dynamometry, and range of motion data. Collectively, the blend of these metrics in testing formulates Strength and Coordination Training (SCT) programs. Course participants will then be taught to successfully integrate those metrics to help customize training programs according to pain and dysfunction, kinematics, and kinetics, as well as acknowledge workload elements and fatigue that can interfere with motor preferences and optimal performance. Ultimately, the goal is to provide students with a means to better understand biomechanical and physical data and hyper-personalize training and rehabilitation programs for throwing athletes.
