Global Objectives: • Describe surgical and patient-centered perspectives that inform comprehensive ostomy care from procedure through long-term management. • Integrate evidence-based approaches to wound, ostomy, and continence care to improve care coordination, complication management, and long-term outcomes using appropriate resources and patient education. • Identify clinical indications for specialty services such as surgical consultation, pressure mapping, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and other advanced wound management interventions. • Discuss current best practices for the management of diabetic and vascular lower extremity wounds. • Describe emerging research and evolving surgical or clinical strategies for the management of short gut syndrome.
