This session explores the role of healthcare workers and leaders in trauma-informed care. Specifically, participants will learn how they can build awareness and provide effective and meaningful education to team members on this important, yet sensitive topic. Participants will learn about critical elements of screening and assessing for trauma, care planning in a trauma-informed way, and how care partners can assist with daily care in a trauma-informed way. Current research shows that therapists are leaving the profession primarily due to burnout and stress. We all play a role in supporting our teams, ourselves and our peers. In this session, participants will learn about trauma informed leadership principles, psychometric measures to assess burnout and trauma, and measures to facilitate individual “self-plans” to support each other’s mental health.
