This course introduces Kinesio Sensory Point Taping (SPT) for stomatognathic professionals working with the face, jaw, head, and neck. SPT is a gentle, neurosensory-based taping approach that focuses on the minimal effective does of tape to support function without overloading sensitive tissues.
You will learn how to use small, horizontally cut tape strips, applied with no stretch and precise placement, to influence sensory input rather than muscle strength. Modern best practice in stomatognathic taping emphasizes that strategic placement matters more than tape quantity.
SPT is effective because facial nerves sit closer to the skin than muscles, making them easier to access but more sensitive to touch. Heavy or exessive taping can overwhelm the system. this class teaches lighter, smaller taping strategies that engage these nerves safely and comfortably.
SPT is ideal for delicate, highly innervated areas and for clients who do not tolerate traditional muscle-based taping.
