This course provides an in-depth, evidence-based examination of headache management with a focus on cervicogenic and tension-type headaches. Content includes differentiation of primary and secondary headaches, identification of red flags, and application of standardized classification systems. Participants will learn and apply clinical examination techniques, including the cervical flexion rotation test, and interpret current literature regarding manual therapy, exercise, and multimodal interventions.
The course integrates research evidence with clinical practice through guided video instruction, peer-reviewed articles, and a longitudinal patient case demonstrating progression of care. Instruction also emphasizes safety considerations in the cervical spine, including screening for vascular pathology and appropriate clinical decision-making related to manual therapy interventions.
Upon completion, participants will be able to apply evidence-based strategies to evaluate, classify, and manage patients with headache disorders within physical therapy practice.
