Specifically, the World Physiotherapy Africa region conference will:
• be the leading international forum for exchange of physiotherapy research and discussion of professional issues supporting the advancement of the profession in the interests of all World Physiotherapy member organisations in the Africa region
• reflect the diversity of a unified international profession
• attract international interest and participation facilitating involvement for as many people as possible 
• provide a sense of community and connectedness for the global physiotherapy profession
• create a lasting impact/legacy in the host destination and/or profession as a whole
• contribute to the ongoing development of World Physiotherapy Africa region
• provide a platform for industry to showcase their products/activities, sponsor and interact with the profession 
• support accessible, healthy and sustainable communities*
