This interdisciplinary continuing education conference is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and other caregivers seeking to improve clinical decision-making in the care of older adults. As the geriatric population grows, clinicians must interpret a wide range of clinical indicators—including laboratory values, screening tools, medication profiles, and functional outcome measures—that directly influence patient safety, independence, and quality of life.

This course will examine key clinical “numbers” relevant to healthy aging, including metabolic markers (e.g., A1C), bone health indicators (e.g., T-scores), medication-related risk factors, mental health screening tools (e.g., depression and isolation scales), and functional performance measures related to mobility and driving safety. Content will be delivered by an interdisciplinary team and will emphasize evidence-based practice and real-world application.

Participants will engage in case-based learning to strengthen their ability to interpret clinical data, identify risk factors, and collaborate across disciplines to develop effective, patient-centered plans of care. The course will also introduce the role of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, in supporting clinical assessment and decision-making.

Upon completion, participants will be better equipped to apply clinically relevant data to improve outcomes, reduce risk, and support safe, independent aging in diverse care settings.
